Farnham swimmers go well at strong Galas

Four of Farnham's top swimmers were on their travels recently, competing at two of the souths toughest swimming galas, namely the Crawley Open Meet on Sat 1st/2nd October and the Aldershot Long course meet on 22/23rd October.

Farnham's famous four were Rhiannon Davies (Open Girls) , Adenais Vachon (U13 Girls), Fleur Robertson (U16 Girls) and Richard Hall (U16 boys).

Highlights at Crawley were Rhiannon's 5th place in the 400m Individual Medley (PB 5'56.37), Richard's 8th place in the 100m Fly and Adenais's 4th place in the 400m free (PB 4'54.11). There were also several other high placings in what was a very strong gala. Adenais also made it into the 'skins' event for the 200m Free, where she excelled finishing 3rd overall and winning a tenner!

The Aldershot gala produced a great victory for Adenais in the 200m Freestyle (PB 2'20.72), 3rd place for Fleur in the 200m Backstroke and a good 10th place for Richard in the 200m Backstroke. Adenais also finished second in both the 200m Fly and the 400m Freestyle. The Aldershot gala is unusual in that it is swum in one of the UKs few 50m pools. These were absolutely top class galas as can be judged from the participating teams, namely, Crawley, Brighton, Bracknell, Eastbourne, Littlehampton, Bognor Regis, Leatherhead, Swindon, Rushmoor and Guildford. A whos-who of the south's top swim teams.

The Farnham coach Dirk Cox was very pleased with the results against such strong company.
