Farnham Swimming Club's squad of young swimmers had a successful day recently when they competed in the Hazlemere Open meeting. Eleven swimmers competed strongly throughout a very long day but were rewarded for their efforts by taking 5th club overall.
Rosie Webster was in fine form and was triumphant taking 'top girl' in the 9/10 year age group. She swam superbly throughout and was a model of consistency with two silver, two bronze and a 5th place ribbon. In the same age group, William Miller showed great determination in taking gold, silver, bronze and two place ribbons for a 3rd place overall in the age group.
Emily Webster powered to a fine silver medal position in the 50m freestyle, to accompany two place ribbons in her other events. Rhys Davies and George Traylen were also in determined mood, swimming strongly to take place ribbons on one event each.
The rest of the squad showed their potential against stung opposition and new personal best times were achieved by Sarah Harvey Nevin, Sophie Hart, Christina Astin, Marco Astin, Charlotte Teague and and Mathew Teague.
Chief Coach Arthur McMahon congratulated the squad on their collective performance, which was a clear indication of recent improvement due to hard work in the training pool.
