Farnham notch up Junior Cup Victory

Farnham Swimming Club's junior squad came of age when they competed in the second round of the junior cup. The Farnham team swam superbly throughout to win a highly competitive and exciting event.

New recruit Sarah Taylor continues to show her talent and was victorious in 3 events. She dominated the U/13 breaststroke and butterfly and followed with a 'swim-up' victory in the U/14 backstroke.Adenais Vachon was also in fine form, winning the U/12 butterfly and taking a brace of seconds in the butterfly and breaststroke. Catherine Jefferies was edged into second place in the U/11 freestyle.In the boys events. George Traylen (U/12 freestyle), Richard Hall (U/14 freestyle, butterfly and individual medley) and Marco Astin (U/11 freestyle and butterfly) all swam strongly to gain valuble second place points.The U/12 relay squad of Freya Robertson, Anna Watson, Catherine Jefferies and Adenais Vachon combined well to take first place in both the freestyle and medley relays. The U/11 girls - Rosie Webster, Charlotte Teague, Catherine Taylor and Catherine Jefferies - won the freestyle. Nancy Brownlow, Sarah Taylor, Emily Webster and Katherine Browne powered to a fine win in the U/14 freestyle relay.

Coach Arthur McMahon was full of praise for his young squad and was delighted with their fine victory over strong opposition.
