FARNHAM IN A CLOSE FINISH

Farnham swimmers took on swimmers from divisions above them on 13 May in the first round of the Rother League at Bracknell, competing against swimmers from Bracknell, Hart, Kingston Royals, Elmbridge Phoenix and Basingstoke.  They came a respectable 4th, only 4 points behind the 2nd please team.  Amassing an impresive 20 personal best times from the 39 individual swims including wins for Beth Kelly U11 girls 50m breaststroke in a time of 50 seconds; James Butcher Boys U11 50m breaststroke in a time of 49.80 seconds and Adenais Vachon U15 girls 50m fly 32.11 seconds and 50m freestyle 29.41 seconds.  These were backed up by second places for Natalie Jones Girls U11 50m freestyle, Beth Kelly Girls U11 50m backstroke, Catherine Jefferies Girls U13 50m freestyle, Rhiannon Davies open 50m freestyle and Chris Browne boys U15 50m breaststroke. 

With 1st places for the U11 girls relay team of Josie Hearn, Beth Kelly, Olivia Morgan and Natalie Jones and the open girls freestyle relay team of Rhiannon Davies, Stacey Gibbons, Adenais Vachon and Catherine Brown.  They also finished 2nd in the medley relay.  Adenais and Catherine were joined by Catherine Jefferies and Lucy Primmer to come 2nd in the girls U15 freestyle and medley relays.
