Farnham shine in tough event

A team of 10 from Farnham Swimming Club attended the NQT Guildford Open meet. This was a very competitive event and Farnham's swimmers were up against strong competition.

Adenais Vachon set the pace by winning three medals over the weekend: two silvers in the 100m freestyle and 50m freestyle and one bronze in the 50m butterfly. She also came fourth in the 200m freestyle, 100m individual medley and 50m backstroke. Fleur Robertson won silver in the 200m backstroke and came fourth in the 100m individual medley and 100m backstroke. Rhiannon Davies took a bronze in the 50m freestyle and finished fourth in the 100m individual medley and fifth in the 50m butterfly. Stacy Gibbons was fifth in the 50m breastroke and 100m individual medley.

Martyn Smithers swam superbly in the 200m freestyle to finish fifth, while Christian Miller came seventh in the 100m breaststroke and 50m butterfly. Richard hall managed fifth in the 50m butterfly and seventh in the 100m individual medley. William Miller, Sophie Hart and Matthew Teague swam well and all the Farnham swimmers achieved personal best times.
