Sarah's treble helps Farnham to third place

Farnham swimmers gained a fighting third place at the recent Rother League Rd 1 on Sat 14th May at Bracknell. Other participating clubs were Alton, Worthing, Dorking, Epsom, Bracknell and Wokingham.

Star of the night for Farnham was Sarah Taylor gaining a superb treble of individual victories (Girls U15 50m Freestyle, Breaststroke and Butterfly) in addition to swimming legs in three winning relays. A great nights work! This was a tough gala and the other Farnham winners, Catherine Jefferies (U11 50m Free) and Adenais Vachon (U13 50m Free, 50m Fly) should also be very proud of their performances. Farnhams relay teams swam well as usual, with wins in the Open medley and Freestyle relays (Fleur Robertson, Rhiannon Davies, Sarah Taylor, Stacy Gibbons) and U15 Freestyle relays (Emily Webster, Sarah Taylor, Katherine Browne, Adenais Vachon).. The evening finished as usual with the squadron Freestyle relay with Farnham battling to a great second place. There were also further second places for Rhiannon Davies (two), Adenais Vachon, Thomas Curren and George Traylen.

This was the first gala in charge for new coach Dirk Cox who led by example swimming in two of the men's open events and must be very optimistic about the team he has inherited.
